An individual who laced treats with tranquilliser and provided them to minors at a summer camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual offences against two children both nine and 10.
The accused was taken into custody after eight minors and an older person became sick at Stathern Lodge in the summer month.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he stood at the judicial center on recently.
Nevertheless, he denied one particular crime he was accused of, which was against a young boy.
Ruben was kept in jail ahead of a subsequent court date on November 28th.
'Candy game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, detailed the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She said his victims were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he operated.
Ruben played a "treat game" with the children, the prosecutor said, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and request they to consume candy "as fast as possible".
She stated to the judge Ruben had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously fallen ill the next day.
She said Ruben had been successful in rationalizing this repeatedly as the minors being "overexcited from fun", until his family member had suspicions in July 2025.
Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepchild had worries about what was going on, justifiably.
"They resolved" to examine in the individual's items."
Mrs Prior KC said items including infant oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were located, and his stepson alerted the law enforcement about his worries.
She stated Ruben proceeded to engage in the "candy game" with six boys that night - that Saturday - and they were everyone unwell the following morning.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that time," she continued.
The regulatory agency, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, earlier informed that it was examining Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.
The legal representative said the minors were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so Ruben's stepson called the police a second time.
She explained the defendant then played the "candy game" in a area of five youngsters.
